Coronavirus (COVID-19) Impacts

Marin Transit in partnership with the joint committee is closely monitoring the impacts of COVID-19 on the yellow bus program. Below you will find updates on the program due to the current public health crisis.

2019-20 Impacts

All refunds for the 2019-20 school year have been processed. It normally takes 3 - 5 business days for refunds to be credited to your account. However, due to COVID-19, processing times are longer than normal. If you have questions about your refund, please contact school@marintransit.org.

All monthly payments have been cancelled.

2020-21 Impacts

Marin Transit recognizes the uncertainty surrounding the academic year for 2020/21. This, coupled with past technology issues related to high demand at the time when bus passes go on sale, has led us to develop a new system for the yellow bus pass purchases for 2020/21. This new plan is comprised of a lottery sign up for bus passes now, but the lottery award and sale of bus passes will happen much closer to the beginning of the school year.

With this new system, parents do not have to make a financial commitment now to a bus pass. We encourage anyone who may be interested in taking the yellow bus to school next year to sign up.      

Marin Transit will work with Ross Valley School District and the joint committee to make any necessary adjustments to the program to meet public health guidelines. Parents will be notified of any changes to the program as a result of these requirements.
